The purpose of this study was to comparison of core muscle activity on surface conditions and loads during squat exercise. Muscle activity of the rectus abdominis(RA), external oblique(EO), internal oblique(IO), erector spinae(ES) and gluteus maximus(GM) were measured on bodyweight (BW), 30% of one-repetition maximum (1-RM) and 70% of 1-RM during squat both floor and BOSU-ball base on pre measured 1-RM nine healthy male adults. In results, muscle activity of RA was significantly higher at floor 30%, floor 70% and BOSU-ball 70% than floor BW (p<.05) and significantly higher at BOSU-ball 70% than BOSU-ball BW (p<.05). Muscle activity of EO was significantly higher at BOSU-ball 70% than floor BW (p<.05) and significantly higher at BOSU-ball 70% than BOSU-ball BW (p<.05). Muscle activity of IO was not significantly different between exercises than floor BW. Muscle activity of ES was significantly higher at floor 70% and BOSU-ball 70% than floor BW (p<.05) and significantly higher at floor 30%, floor 70% and BOSU-ball 70% than BOSU-ball BW (p<.05). Muscle activity of GM was significantly higher at floor 70% than floor BW (p<.05) and significantly higher at floor 70% and BOSU-ball 70% than BOSU-ball BW (p<.05). According to these results, It was confirmed that increasing the activity of the core muscles during squat exercise load increased or unstable surface.
