The present paper examines MUltiple SIgnal Classification (MUSIC)-type imaging of perfectly conducting cracks arising in inverse scattering problems. The inverse scattering problem to iden-tify the shape of perfectly conducting cracks has been an interesting subject in various applied sciences as well as mathematics and physics. The MUSIC-type algorithm has proved feasible and generalized as a method dealing with inverse scattering problems. Nonetheless, at times the MUSIC algorithm has failed to yield good results. That is why the mathematical properties of MUSIC algorithm should be closely investigated. Thus, this study attempts to discover the structure of MUSIC-type imaging function by finding a relationship between it and the Bessel function of order zero of the first kind, and examine certain properties of MUSIC algorithm. Then multi-frequency based on MUSIC-type image will be designed to improve traditional MUSIC-type imaging. We will establish a relationship between multi-frequency MUSIC-type imaging and the Bessel function of integer order of the first kind. Some numerical experiments will be provided to confirm the present investigation.
