This study analyzed the demands for job based on the characteristics of residents from the viewpoint of sustainability at collective housing area.
We derived the thirty-one types of job which are available at collective housing area and designed the questionnaire including moderator variables such as personal, housing and time. Furthermore, we conducted the survey at the six study sites which are different each other in size and date of completion and employed the structural equation model to analyze the effects among the variables.
The results reveal that 1) economically disadvantaged residents are more likely to want to be employed in their community, 2) the bigger collective housing area have more job opportunities, and 3) the jobs for welfare and utilizing resources are ideal for economical sustainability of collective housing areas. This study may contribute the body of knowledge for sustainable job creation in residential area based on the demands of residents.
