Recently, interest of thermal comfort is increasing because people are spending much time in automotive cabin. Thermal comfort, emotional index about satisfaction of human body in thermal environment, was defined by the state of which physical effort of human body is minimum for adaption in thermal environment. However in the automobile development process, HVAC cooling performance is evaluated by the thermal environment standards of automotive manufacturers and this standard is inadequate for the reflection of thermal comfort. The present study established a prediction model to design the control logic of HVAC system which can apply thermal comfort of human body. In this study, we evaluated thermal environment for 6 sections and thermal comfort for human models according to various airflows and cooling time of HVAC system.
