The number of female marriage immigrants including Vietnamese continuously increasein Korea. Vietnamese female marriage immigrants consist one of the biggest marriage immigrants groups as well as Chinese and Mongolian. After immigration to Korean society, a number of them have experienced the conflict between values of Vietnamese and that of Korean caused by different cultural value. Some are exposed to the problems of social maladaptation (maladjustment). Others make assimilation efforts to adopt the different values in Korean society. Thus, in Korean society, further studies are needed concentrating on the value conflicts and the efforts for the adaptation of values of the Vietnamese female marriage immigrants.
As a result of this study, in order to become a true multi-cultural society, it is essential for Korean society to understand the culture of female marriage immigrants and adapt it without any prejudice. Also it is needed to accept the cultural value of multi cultural families and organize an international network. Mutual respect between marriage immigrants and Korean will be helpful by means of changing perceptions of Korean to marriage immigrants.
