The purpose of this study was to see the relationship of holding local government sport event on city image, community sense and sac sense of host region to provide basic data for local government as well as host community development. A Total of 1,400 questionnaires were distributed in Suwon, Gyeonggi, where “2012 Peace Cup Suwon” was held from July, 19th through 22nd of 2012. For data analysis, 1,346 final valid samples were used for frequency analysis, factor analysis, reliability analysis, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis through PASW 18.0. And the results are as follow.
First, sport event, city image, community sense and SOC sense had correlation with sport events of local government. Second, holding local government sport event partially influenced on city image, community sense and SOC sense and city image partially influenced on community sense and SOC sense. For further research, sport events should be observed with more various variables and provide overall effect of hosting sport events.
