The purpose of this study was to analyze effects of phytoestrogen and endurance exercise on body composition and estrogen receptor of hepatocyte and brain in ovaiectomized rats. 40 male wister rats were randomly assigned for 5 groups(SS: Sham-Sedentary, OC: ovariectomized-control, OE: ovariectomized-exercise, OS: ovariectomized-soy protein, OES: ovariectomized-exercise/soy protein). After ovariectomy, body weight and %body fat were significantly increased but after 8 week of soy protein or endurance exercise treatment?;?;significantly reduce% body fat. The plasma glucose concentration was similar between groups, but plasma insulin and triglyceride level were significantly increased only in OC. ERa protein expression was increase in hepatocyte after soy protein or endurance exercise treatment for 8 week. In brain ERα/β Protein expression did not changed. Therefor 8 weeks of soy protein and endurance exercise training reduce %body fat and improve glucose and lipid metabolism. In menopause, estrogen receptor overexpression will positively affect lipid, glucose metabolism.
