Developing the modern design of Hanok and providing support for the commercialization model development in recent years propelled by the New Hanok Support Strategies of the central government in conjunction with the New Hanok revitalization related projects reflecting local goverments. New Hanok revitalization, the rekindling and revaluing of human behaviors and interests in local goverments following the social and cultural changes of the past decades, has emeraged as an increasingly traditional area of concerning in New Hanok planning. In this case New Hanoks were built according to the way of lives of the people, culturally specific and meant for a specific group of people with similar cultural background. However, the suggestion is not relevant when housing were imposed on the people and not consistent with their cultural needs, resulted in behavioural adaptation and physical modification especially when the housing is designed for a heterogeneous group of people with different culture. Therefore behavioural adaptations are expected to create a balance between behaviour and the physical living environment. In this paper attempted to examine the behavioural adaptation in relation to the New Hanok Culture namely the Everyday activity, privacy and social interaction of the New Hanok families. The study employs case studies involving 47 families living in the New Hanoks in Gyeongsangnam-do Province. To begin, a brief outline is made of the characteristic features of the Hanok revitalization in Gyeongsangnam-do Province. The study analyzes the characteristics of individual family and living environment of New Hanoks and categorizes the changes in some aspects of New Hanok Culture.
