Contemporary events which have been growing fast in the leisure activity can be mainly divided into four categories; festivals, sports events, performances, and exhibitions. This study has been performed to investigate the demographic characteristics and the difference in the degree of satisfactions of cultural event participants in the four categories above.
The questionnaires filled out by 1,094 people who have participated in the four types of events were used as the valid sample, and both cross-tabulations and variance analysis have been performed accordingly. The result of both analyses shows that significant and meaningful differences were found in demographic factors such as gender, age, education, income, or occupation, and so forth. In addition, distinctive differences were found in the preferred events and the degree of satisfactions. This study is expected to be useful in selecting the target market in line with the type of events and in preparing a mutual marketing collaboration plan between different events.
