Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore what the core practical nursing course experience means to the nursing students. Methods: 15 nursing students participated in the study, and the data were analyzed on the basis of Colaizzi’s phenomenological methods. Results: It was analyzed that the impacts of the core practical nursing course on the nursing students were identified in the following 6 categories: pressure of learning what they have not encountered before, a gain in more knowledge, effective adaptation to practical training, a learning motive through encouragement and self-reflection, a gain in self-confidence, enhancing senses of belonging and comradeship. Conclusion: The result of this study will serve as the basic material for developing teaching methods and detailed strategies that will vitalize the core practical nursing course.
