Korean churches have rapidly grown for the last few decades. However, in the process of rapid church growth, side effects have also emerged. Many pastors have just concentrated on church growth itself without deeply considering the ethical dimension. As a result, problems have resulted in Korean churches such as sexual misconduct, misuse of church finance, extreme competition between the churches for membership guarantee, and unconcern to the social issues and so on. In these circumstances, this essay is trying to search for the diagnosis of Korean pastoral ethics and its practical task. Firstly, we will search for the relation between pastoral ministry and ethics. Here, we will deeply look at the reason why unethical problems have resulted from pastoral ministry, the pastors" consciousness to pastoral ethics, and their burden to pastoral ethics. Secondly, we will see the research tendency to pastoral ethics through articles and books. Lastly, we will suggest practical task of pastoral ethics.
