This paper has significance in an attempt to review the idea of the regional order for East Asia and Chinese perspective on Korea by analyzing the contents of the Freechina , the most famous magazine for representing Chinese liberalist in the Cold War era.
The ending of the World War Ⅱ and the rising of the Cold War roused the new spatio-temporal recognition among Chinese liberalists. The Chinese liberalist continuously designed a regional order of East Asia suitable for defending himself from threat by communist China and realizing the principles of freedom. That was tentatively named PPTO(Pan-Pacific treaty organization) modeled on NATO. The aim of that idea was for China to take a leadership for the regional order of East Asia by military support from America. But that is not realized, and the goal was retreated to establishing a regional organization based on individual groups with the soft power, because of the segmentation policy of the western for the stable order of EA, and the divided recognition on each other in EA.
Hereafter, scope of EA that they contemplate is confined to Korea-China-Japan allied nations. But they learn from the previous experience and redesigned East Asian Community as non-governmental organizations. Meanwhile, the change of their idea on regional system of EA of Freechina was accompanied with the change of their Identity and Perspective on Korea. The image of Korea in Freechina is changed from a peripheral nation to an allay nation for anti Communism. But recognition about Korea in Freechina is not systematic style but fragmented one. For better communication, it must be introduced more knowledge on each other into Knowledge system.
