Blank temperature and blank holding force are important parameters affecting formability in deep drawing process. And heat transfer coefficient has the greatest influence to the temperature. This paper, in which use Al-Si coated boron sheet as blank samples, investigated the formability and thinning behavior according to blank holding force in hot deep drawing. A J-STAMP relative computer simulation has been performed to compare with experimental results. In numerical simulation, thermal coefficient and friction coefficient were studied. Relationship between punch load and forming depth according to blank holding force were also obtained and appropriate value of friction coefficient by varying blank holding force has been evaluated in hot deep drawing. The result shows that friction coefficient decreased as blank holding force increased. Furthermore, thinning behavior and equivalent strain were carefully investigated. It shows that when thinning value is lower than 20%, sample is in a safety state without fracture. Fracture occurs when thinning is higher than 29% under the B<SUB>f</SUB> smaller than 30kN, and 26% when B<SUB>f</SUB> is higher than 30kN.
