The focus of this study is to formulate heat-treatment scheduling and apply it to industries. Total complete time of the schedule depends on how to group parts and assign them into heat furnace. It means that level of productivity depends on the scheduling plan. To ameliorate heat-treatment process, this study formulated a spreadsheet model which minimizes total complete time and standardizes subsequent processing steps. And a mathematical model of the scheduling plan problem was also constructed in this study.
This study suggested a scientific approach to the scheduling of heat-treatment process and it gives a yardstick of managerial decision-makings for the efficient use of heat-treatment process. The method reduces overall time of the heat-treatment process and makes it possible to load-level the processes before and after the heat-treatment process.
