What role and function did Suarez play in the transition from the Middle Ages to the modern period? In order to solve the problem of modernity of Suarez, we need to employ more imaginative metaphor. With said in mind, I will focus on three areas. First of all, how Suarez attempted to revise Aquinas" thought will be investigated. In addition, the role and function of Suarez played in the so-called Suarezianization of Aquinas, especially in the problem of the status of Aquinas, will be outlined. Finally, the paper will discuss Suarez"s role in problems related to the internal senses.
