As developed the automotive industry, CAN has been applied to many electronic components from, TCU for the basic unit in the car and TCS, ESC for the safety system to Smart Cruise Control, Central door locking, Powered Seat, Mirror Control unit for convenient device. In case of the recent developed vehicle, the complexity of the system significantly is being increased as connected electronic controllers of more than 30 in the CAN network.
In these system, ESC called Life Saver of the safety system is using much information transferred from multiple controllers in the CAN network to determine the behavior of the vehicle. Also, ESC is transmitting much information such as data input from external sensor or control status of the ESC in CAN network for other controller. To secure reliability and to validate about these transmitting and receiving data occupies a very important role but is consumed much time in the development phase. Accordingly, This paper will be used to develop automated Test environment to validate about CAN interface that is responsible for handling data conversion of monitoring signals from CAN network and messages, signals transmitted from ESC to CAN network and ESC’s network management, etc.
The configuration for automated test system is consisted the power supply and the simulator and CAN signal generation tool and CAN signal measurement tool and auto test executing tool and test result reporting tool. The simulator is the role that generate switch and sensor signals like as wheel speed, yaw, lateral acceleration, brake switch, ESC off switch, etc. and it is controlled through CAN signal. CAN signal generation tool is the role generating CAN signals of other controller in the vehicle like as EMS, TCU, etc, needed for ESC. CAN signal measurement tool is used for measuring message period, network management timing, corresponding signals transmitted by ESC. Auto test executing tool and test result reporting tool perform the test according to the TDP and report the test results and test execution time. It is utilized to reduce the verification time by creating this automation test environment for CAN data reliability and development.
