Cui Shu is a famous scholar, an expert on textual research and a historian in Qian-Jia Periods of Qing Dynasty. The research about Cui Shu and his works over one hundred years is mainly concentrated in two stages, one is from the beginning of the 20th century to the 1930s, the other is after the 1980s. In the first stage, Cui Shu’ works were sorted out. Besides, the chronicles of his life and his biography were written. Cui Dongbi Yi Shu sorte dout by Gu Jie gang is the most complete, who raised the view of ancient history in accumulative way. After the 1980s, the research turns to introduce and evaluate Cui Shu and his works, then to Cui Shu’s study of Confucian classics, achievements in history, thoughts of politics and laws and soon. Great research achievements have been mades of ar. Asan over all and systematic book in recent years, Cui Shu Critical Biography written by Wu Liang-kai introduces all Cui Shu’ life, analyses and evaluates objectively his study and thoughts. Shao Dong-fang’ many exhaustive reseaches on Cui Shu are collected in his work Research on Cui Shu Academy. Wei Yongqiang who has mad e afew achievements in recent years, mainly analyses Cui Shu’ research theory, principle and method.
Over one hundred years, the research on Cui Shu and his works gradually becomes more and more complicated. During this time, the research contents are further developing, from introducing Cui Shu and his works to general evaluation of Cui Shu’s academic achievements, then to his political thoughts and so on. At the same time, though using more and more methods including comparison, interpretation, induction and analysis, the academic circle paid less attention on Cui Shu’ other works than KaoXinLu.
