This study intends to interpret Information and Communication Technology (ICT) firms’ location changes in a national territory by analyzing the determinants having an effect on their movement. For this research, the ICT firms’ movement patterns were categorized according to firm’s characteristics and analyzed using GIS-based flow analysis. As a result, we found following ICT firms’ movement characteristics. First, the ICT firms have a similar movement behavior compared with other general companies. Second, ICT service firms are different in the movement tendency from ICT manufacturing firms in moving distance, firms’ size and age. From the analysis, ICT firms’ relocation were determined by the followings. First, the ICT manufacturing firms; movement is significantly affected by the large ICT firms, electronic components manufacturing firms, and the total floor of communication facilities. However, the ICT service industry firms’ movement is affected by computer manufacturing firm, industry estate parcel price and the total floor of communication facilities. Second, there was a difference between ICT firms’ movement in Seoul Metropolitan Area(SMA) and non-SMA according to the type of industry and age. From the research results, because most of ICT firms’ movement occur in small sized or newly established firms, it will be possible to develop a ICT firms’ location strategy based on the firms’ relocation characteristics.
