In this paper, the problem of deflection of a cantilever beam and fixed ?hinged beam of linear and nonlinear elastic material, under the action of an external vertical concentrated load at the free end and middle beam, is simulately analyzed by DEM program which has been coded using C++ language. We compared result of DEM with result of linear theory and nonlinear theory and obtained that the simulated results fit the result of nonlinear quite well. Showing that the DEM can be applied simulation to solve nonlinear problems in mechanics.
