With regard to the foundation for the selection of appropriate materials in waterproof and root resistance membrane construction methods, and the selection and development of construction methods, it is necessary to study the materials and construction methods for waterproof and root resistance membrane that have been applied in artificial ground nationwide so far.
After examining and analyzing the existing waterproof and root resistance membrane construction methods, it was found that they could be divided into a type of employing waterproof and root resistance membrane using single materials, another type that employed waterproof and root resistance membrane by composing materials in a mixed way, and the other type that constructed the waterproof and root resistance membrane layers independently. It is expected that the classification and establishment of the construction methods discussed in this study will set the foundation for the development of waterproof and root resistance membrane technology, such as selection of materials for waterproof and root resistance membrane layers, construction technology, and the guidelines.
