The purpose of this article is to reflect on the process of the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults(RCIA). This purpose is to resound to the feebled RCIA in Korean Church. For this purpose this article says to the history of the catechumenate from Bible period to the middle age. By the problem of baptism in mission fields the catechumenate had been studied. With the result of the study the catechumenate was born at the 1972. The RCIA is the rite revised the catechumenate of the early Church in history. The RCIA is constituted with the three parts of the precatechumenate, catechumenate, and mystagogy. By this RCIA"s influence NAAC was born in the region of the North America. NAAC emphasizes the catechumenate for the substantial baptismal education. And also Anglican Church in England has the catechumenate program which has a characteristics at the contents of Alpha course. The implications of RCIA for Korean Church are as follows; The RCIA of Korean Church needs to the process of the formation and transformation education including precatechumenate, catechumenate, and mystagogy. The objective of RCIA of Korean Church needs to consideration to the discipleship from conversion and confession. The contents of RCIA include not only a lectionary based contents but also Alpha course or theme centered contents for the catechumens and competentes. The methods of the RCIA needs to the integrative using of liturgy, catechesis, and symbol. Finally this article emphasizes mystagogy which is post-baptismal catechesis. Often times Christians think RCIA is finished with baptism in baptismal day. But the RCIA continues to the mystagogy stage which is the period from Resurrection Sunday to Pentecost Sunday. The Mystagogy of catechumenate emphasizes the importance of the continual growth of Christian faith and the nurturing Church after baptism.
