The purpose of this report is to predict of appearances in the future in GyeongNam province area.
Through the meta-analysis, 13 future mega-trends were summarized and divided with five areas from previous studies. The first thing is a social area that is the slow growth period and aging era of longevity. The second thing is a economic area that is the spread of global competition and knowledge industries. The third area is the technological development and the evolution of knowledge and information. The fourth thing is a environmental area that is the climate change and other environmental issues. Lastly, the fifth thing is a political area that is the changes of international political system and decentralization.
By the evaluation from 30 regional study experts, the aging of the population structure was identified as the most influential mega trend of Gyengnam area in the future.
And the results of scenario analysis, the relatively clear appearances in the future were derived as follows.
Firstly, by the spread of low birth and aging of the population structure, the regional competitive power will be decreased. This is a negative appearance in the future.
Secondly, due to the global economic cooperation and the emergence of mega-cities in this region, the international competitive power will be creased. This is a positive appearance in the future.
But, on the other hand, the regional disparities will be extended in the future. By the the rapid population decline in rural areas.
Finally, the transformation of economic system from fossil energy to green energy economy will be served as an opportunity.
