Many logistics hub-point that has been built and operated by Korean government or a public institution do not coincide with the goal of original government policy that it plays a role as hub-point role of multimodal transportation for long distance. That is because they are built under the goal of fast supply and development by government without consideration for efficient their network. GyeongNam-do has main hub-point such as Busan new port, Masan port, Yangsan ICD and IFT, etc. which can make active transportation for internal and external trade, but they also have not connected by efficient network so far. Moreover, GyeongNam’s hub-points including Yangsan ICD that is decreasing quickly in the role since Busan new port was opened and newly planed hub-point should be pushed forward with their function conversion and development direction under the frame of national logistics master plan.
Hence, this study propose a plan for extension of Gyeongnam’s logistics hub-point and building of efficiently connected and integrated logistics network in order to obtain the synergy effects for development and operation of logistics hub-points. The plan is produced by analyzing development, operational conditions and business property of Gyeongnam’s hub-point, the problem of existing logistics network and origin/destination analysis of local freights. The proposed strategies for building of integrated logistics network in this study is not the easy work that could be performed in short term, therefore it should be achieved step by step from detailed action plan. In that case, it could contribute to improvement and boost of local logistics system and industries.
