A rapid growth in the computer and telecommunication technologies in the modern age has caused a wide range of transformation in the human society. In the architectural society, it is now possible to achieve a more realistic and rich expression using the computers, compared to the previous 2-dimensional expression technique and the analog processes.
This paper describes these phenomena in terms of the presentational and procedural aspects. In addition, it also investigates these phenomena in terms of the network-oriented process in the architecture. In this study, these recent tendency in the space design is defined as the digital architecture. The idea of the digital design which has originated from the digital technologies has freed human race from the limitation and the restriction of the time and space. The value of the space sought by the digital architecture can be distinguished from the existing ideas of the space since it is non-deterministic, non-materialistic, lightweight, obscure, and instantaneous idea, compared to the existing deterministic, materialistic, heavyweight, obvious, everlasting idea.
