Plastic materials like polycarbonate(PC) have increased to adopt as weight reduction material for automotive industry. Specially, with the recent development in coating technology, optical grade PCs are an emerging choice for automotive glazing applications like quarter window, tailgate window, panoramic roof and provide weight reduction up to 50% compared to glass. To use the PC glazing for automotive, PC glazing needs the precise forming technology such as injection compression molding(ICM). This technology is very expensive cost and many time for basic utility construction and maintains. This paper studies on the alternative technology of ICM for PC glazing. This technology make PC glazing using general injection molding machine with the toggle system in Mold.
