Because evolution is not treated as a theory, but as a scientific fact in public school in Korea, most of Christian students have experienced an inner conflict with their Christian faith for creation. Naturalistic thinking planted through Darwin’s theory affects not only their perspective on science, history, society, and ethics, but also the understanding of themselves and the world. However, the church’s attitude towards this problem has not helped them hold their faith in the Creator. As most of churches in Korea have denied many scientific facts that the Bible does not mentioned, they restrict the way God created the world to the supernatural area. As a result, the churches reinforce the belief that evolutionism is science, and creationism is a personal or religious opinion. As believers, we need to consider how we approach to teenagers’ confusion. We should lead them to understand the relationship between religion and science. If they can understand the religiosity of Darwinism, they will be better prepared to defend their faith for Christ.
