The purpose of this study was to compare the effect of isometric exercise and NMES(neuromuscular electrical stimulation) on muscle fatigue by wrist extensor. For this study, subjects were forty members who twenty for isometric exercise group, 20 for neuromuscular electrical stimulation group, and they were calculated from a 10 minute exercise and stimulation by wrist extensor. The wrist extensor fatigue of the subjects were measured by strength dynamometer. The data of changes with in the group and the differences between before and after and after the exercises for each group was analysed with multifarious analysis of variance test. The statistical significance level was p<.05. As a results, there was a incorrelation between isometric and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. Isometric exercise group and neuromuscular electrical stimulation group were found to have an increase in muscle fatigability significantly as time passes(p<.05). Between isometric exercise group and neuromuscular electrical stimulation group were found to have an difference in muscle fatigability significantly in ten minutes and twenty minutes. But both groups were no found to have an difference in muscle fatigability significantly in thirty minutes. In summary, data from our study suggest that unsuitable duty cycle and exercise time of isometric exercise and neuromuscular electrical stimulation induced increasing of muscle fatigability.
