Objective: This research focus on the influence of user continuous usage intention and behavior for smart phone adoption. Therefore, we proposed a theoretical model to explain the relationship between the user and the factors influencing in their continuous usage. Background: With the introduction of smart phone on the mobile market, research on diverse are for the product development being conducted. However, there is scarcity of research on usability, design, user satisfaction, and user experience. Hence, study on the effect of users’ behavior and intention through the interaction with the product during their usage time is necessary. Method: Literature review on technology acceptance model and continuous usage was followed. Then, we proposed a conceptual model to explain the user continuous usage intention before and after product adoption and diffusion. Results: Through the development of the conceptual model, relationship between factors influencing in the continuous usage before and after their adoption was gathered. In the stage before the adoption, factors related to social and emotional characteristics were relevant. In the stage after the adoption, functional factors have impact on the user continuous usage intention. As a result, users’ continuous usage is due to the flow from the phase of user satisfaction, attachment, and immersion. Conclusion: In this research, a conceptual model of the user continuous usage of smart phone is presented which will improve product sales and loyalty. Application: Thus, with the development of the previously mentioned model, it is possible to provide a solution for product and service design.
