Objective: The purpose of this study is to examine a decreasing trend of the total maximum grip strength with the number of repetitions as well as different resting times. Background: According to the injury data, there are so many workers are suffering from WMSDs (Work-related Musculoskeletal Disorders) due to the repetition tasks with a lack of resting time. And the upper limb disorders were more frequently reported than the lower limb ones. Thus, the effects of resting time as well as repetitions on the total finger strength were investigated in this study. Methods: Twenty-four undergraduate students were participated to exert their maximum gripping force by using MFFM system with different resting times (30sec, 1min, 2min and 3min) and repetitions. Results: Results showed that the total grip strength were significantly different (p<0.05) according to the different resting times and repetitions. Discussion: This study has a decreasing rate of total grip strength on resting times and repetition task. And this result might be helpful information for workers who have repetition tasks to provide desirable resting time based on their working conditions.
