The purpose of this study was to analyze difficulty level, element groups, and connection value points of eight excellent gymnasts who entered the horizontal bar in the 3rd Japan Cup International Gymnastics Championship in 2011. The score regulation newly established by Federation of International Gymnastics(FIG) in 2009 was referred to see khow tn improve gymnasts" skills and performance. The results are as follows; 1. For difficulty level, Level D was most frequently used by all of the eight gymnasts, which was used in a total of 42 times (p<.001), followed by Level C used in a total of 13 times (p<.01) and Level E used in a total of 9 times (p<.01) by the gymnasts. 2. For element groups, "Flight elements (Group Ⅱ) was most preferred by all of the eight gymnasts in 9 systematic techniques, followed by "El-grip and dorsal hang elements and elements performed rearway to the bar" (Group Ⅳ) and "Long hang swings with and without turns" (Group Ⅰ) in 4 systematic techniques, respectively. 3. For connection techniques, all of the eight gymnasts performed a total of 4 systematic connection skills. Yamawaki technique of "Flight elements" (Group Ⅱ) in "Stoop in shoot and 1/1t" and "El-grip and dorsal hang elements and elements performed rearway to the bar" (Group Ⅳ) was used in a total of 8 times (57.1%). All gymnasts entering the horizontal bar accomplished the techniques connecting "El-grip and dorsal hang elements and elements performed rearway to the bar" (Group Ⅳ) to "Flight elements" (Group Ⅱ).
