The purpose of this study was to find the effects of pilates mat gym program on blood pressure, heart rate and lipids profile in 24 elderly women with hypertension. The subjects were confined to pilates mat gym exercise group (PEG, n=13), and non exercise group (CON, n=11). The exercise program was operated for warm-up (10min), work-out (40min), and cool-down (10min) at five day per week for 24 weeks. Systolic blood pressure (SBP), diastolic blood pressure (DBP), pulse pressure (PP), heart rate (HR), mean blood pressure (MBP), and myocardial oxygen consumption (MOC) of blood pressure, heart rate factors and total cholesterol (TC), triglyceride (TG), high density lipoprotein cholesterol (HDL-C), and low density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) of lipids profile were measured before and after program. The results were as follows : At first, the variables of SBP, DBP, HR, MBP, MOC were significantly different in both groups. At second, the variables of lipids profile(TC, TG, LDL-C, HDL-C) were significantly different in both groups. As results of these conclusion, this study have shown and I thought that pilates mat gym exercise was very effect of blood pressure, heart rate and lipis profile in elderly women with hypertension. It could think that quality of life will be improved by prevent and therapy of hypertension.
