The Chosun-Jok(konren minority) in China, who has got the history of one hundred years, have cultivated land, arranged settlement sites, led their descendents to one part of Chinese Races in order not to pass down their own poverty, on basis of their own noble personality which was handed down from their ancestors since they settled down on the district. People’s Government and its country people have arranged Roin-Jul (senior citizen’s day) in memory of senor citizen association of Dongsungyonghyang on 15, August in 1981 in reaction to the appreciation of their ancestors. Though the event was held at a small scale, thanks to the socio-cultural effect of folk culture, the Chosun-Jok Self District Government of Yanbian(Yanbian Korean Nationality Autonomous Prefecture ) established Roin-Jul (senior citizen’s day) as a present for their ancestors in China in 1984 and made shine the traditional virtues of the race with the sincere aspiration of Chosun-Jok.
The event of Roin-Jul of Yanbian, Chosun-Jok Self District Government which has been held for 30 years continues to celebrate various memories, consoling performance and family line, and social relationships of the community, so it leaves deep impression to the people and the whole community from the government and groups to companies and country villages. Due to the social effect of folk culture, the Associations of Chosun-Jok sun-Jok sun-Jo(＜The Association of Yanbian Senior Citizens) have made the basic convergJoce of Chosun racial culture as a kind posture of faithful descendents. The event of Roin-Jul of Yanbian, Chosun-Jok Self District Government have been emerging as a cJoe agent for creating a new society, a new man, and a new life on the basis of the Chosun-Jok traditional virtues. The research aims to expect the event to give some hands for handing down the traditional virtues of Chosun-Jok people, illuminating its unique origins and styles of performing processes and its socio-cultural effect of the event.
