The requirement for successful communication skills in English has increased with the overall trend towards globalization and the growth of international medical development and healthcare specialization in recent years. Logically, ESP course design should proceed by identifying the target situation first, and the concomitant needs of target learners. Building a language course on these factors would lead to stronger practical language skills that will enable student nurses to function effectively in future real-world situations. In this study, therefore, prior to the design of an ESP program for nursing college students, a target situational needs analysis was conducted by applying a triangular approach to obtain valid information from different sources and methods (Long, 2005). by examining nursing students" needs to identify target language learning objectives, this study attempts to provide a balanced picture of ESP curriculum.
