The knowledge of the bee flora of an area is a basic tool for the development of apiculture and the determination of the botanical and geographical origin of bee products. The study was made to record the floral pasturage of little bee, A. florea in Bangalore region using Palynological studies (examination of trapped pollen), melissopalynological analysis (examination of pollen in honey) and visual observation. Experimental results showed that 147 plant species were recorded as nectar and / or pollen sources for A. florea in GKVK, Bangalore. Palynological investigations made on 96 pollen loads of A. florea collected from August, 2010 to July, 2011 from 5 different locations in GKVK, Bangalore indicated that florea was found to collect pollen from 32 plant species, of this 18 plant species were major pollen yielders, 10 plant species were minor pollen yielders. Pollen analysis from honey samples of A. florea revealed that during summer (June-Sept) T. indica, Callistephus chinensis, Cuphea micrantha and C. nucifera, were the predominant pollen types. During winter season (Oct-Jan) Psidium guajava, Brazil plant, Eucalyptus sp. and Foeniculum vulgare were the predominant pollen types. Mangifera indica, Pongamia pinnata and Peltophorum ferrugineum were the predominant pollen type during monsoon season (Feb - May) and served as the nectar sources.
