This study starts with an assumption that each word obtains functions and meanings through the context. On the basis of this hypothesis, this study considers context of verbs that have experience sense such as ‘경험하다’, ‘겪다’, ‘치르다’ and analysises semantic-functional differences of such verbs of experience. For this purpose, this paper sets verbs of experience as nodes, and searches for collocates that appear frequently with the nodes. The target collocates are core of objective noun phrases that co-occur with verbs of experience. Semantic preferences that are classified as collocates by meanings are examined. Collocates are classified by semantic preferences in semantic categories. Semantic preferences reflect the semantic features of verbs of experience. Finally, semantic prosody of the sequences of nodes and collocates in the context are discussed, and the features of each verbs are examined. The contextual sematic relation with the lexical meaning shows the distinctive nature as well as the common nature of verbs of experience.
