In this study, I investigated the feature of Shijos on a literary contest for a prize from 『Donailbo』. It is particularly noted how this literary contest beginning in 1923 firmly established in the 1930"s and became an influential system professionally promoting rising Shijo poets. In the 1930"s, 『Donailbo』 widely produced an atmosphere in which anyone can write a shijo by inviting the public to join in it extensively. As Lee, Byeong-gi picked Lee, Ho-woo, Kim, Sang-ok, Oh, Shin-hye and others as prize winners for two years in a row, 『Donailbo』"s contest could discover unknown talented people and bring them up as rising poets at that time, especially from 1939 to 1940. In this pross, Pyeong Shijo canon and Shijo poet canon was formed.
