This research aims to examine the effects of different presentation types of pictures on Korean middle school EFL learners" English listening comprehension performance. In this research, 357 Korean middle school EFL learners participated and were divided into four groups. No picture was provided for the control group but three different presentation types of pictures were given to the experimental groups: context-related pictures, content-related pictures, and both context- and content-related pictures. Also, the questionnaires were administered only to the three experimental groups to explore Korean middle school EFL learners" reponses to providing pictures on English listening comprehension test. Findings indicate that the content-related pictures enhanced the participants’ English listening comprehension the most. Interestingly, the results of this research were also supported by their responses and open-ended questions of the questionnaires. This research suggests that providing the content-related pictures on English listening comprehension test could be a positive English listening facilitation for Korean middle school EFL learners. More detailed results and discussions will be given for English teachers and further potential research.
