The primary objective of this study is to develop the competition wushu through a research on the introduction and the diffusion of competition wushu to Korea since the establishment of diplomatic relation between Korea and China. For the research, a field survey was taken. The conclusion of this research is as follow. First, Chinese martial arts effectively started to be diffused in Korea when the martial arts association for Chinese of Korea established the first Dojang of Chinese martial art at Jangsa-dong, Jong-lo 3, in Seoul in 1963. Second, The People’s Republic of China declared an open-door policy and a social reform the nineteen eighties, and for the diffusion of Chinese culture to the whole world, China opened doors to the non-Communist world where they propagated Chinese competitive wushu. Like this, it was introduced to Korea. Third, the competition wushu was introduced to Korea in 1982, after the establishment of diplomatic relation between Korea and China. In 1989, the Korea wushu association was founded, in 1992, the association became a member of regular events of the Korean Olympic Committee. Forth, the reform and open-door policy of China changed the chinese society and the diffusion of wushu enhanced the position of China. This chinese policy had effect on the form of association’s. Fifth, after joining the association of competition, korean wushu inversely had a difficult of diffusion. Sixth, training of elite players caused an obstacle to the diffusion of martial art for all.
