The purpose of this study was to identify the effect of an aqua exercise program on body composition, flexibility, Back Strength, and subjective pain. 20 Females(ages 40~65) with experienced low back pain more than six months and were able to exercise were recruited. Then, they were divided into two groups with random assignment, which are an aqua exercise program in shallow water(n-10) and an aqua exercise program in deep water(n-10) and were intervened with aqua exercise programs for 12 weeks. The results of the study are as follow. After aqua exercise programs for 12 weeks, the deep water program group were more effect on weight, the rate of body fat, the rate of Back Strength fat in body composition than the shallow water program group. While trunk forward flection of the shallow water program group was significantly higher, trunk backward flection of the deep water program group was significantly higher in flexibility. Also, there was higher Back Strength in the shallow water program group. Lastly, the shallow water program group was significant effecf on low back pain, pain when exercise, unfolding and folding, pain when walking, twisting, and sitting down with straight in subjective pain. Extra pain variables were not significant difference between both groups. To sum up, both the shallow and deep water exercise programs would greatly influence on patients with low back pain.
