This paper aims to review and to categorize Hang-U, Chun, Kyung Yun’s academic achievements. His academic achievements overshadowed in Korea’s political issues and Presbyterian Church in Republic of Korea’s issue fighting tendency. Compare to Minjung theologian, his achievements are underestimated. It seems to me that his academic achievement should be remembered and inherited in our times.
His academic achievements are categorized into three parts; First of all, his academic achievements are based on a reformed tradition. Based on a reformed tradition, he keeps this tendency in all of his works and even develops another dimension. We can find out many books which are published by Chun, KyungYun on Calvin, Luther, Barth and Moltmann who success a reformed tradition.
Secondly, his many academic achievements also shows his eagerness to a new tendency and a paradigm of the world theological news. He always follows his contemporary theologian(for example, the post Bultmann scholars, Kasemann, Bornkamm and Moltmann) and introduces it to Korea of the issues and the paradigms.
Finally, he publishes a lots of commentary on the New Testament books; book of Matthew, Luke-Acts, Romans, First, second Corinthians, Paul’s prison Letters, Hebrews so on. These works tell us his perspective on the study of New Testament what is the most important matter.
