Purpose: The purpose of this study were to describe job stress and job satisfaction of care helpers and to identify relationship of related factors of job stress and job satisfaction. Methods: This study was a descriptive investigation and the subjects of the study were 130 care helpers offering home care services. Job stress and job satisfaction were measured using the tool proposed by Kim (2009). A series of t-test, analysis of variance analyses, and Pearson correlation were conducted using SPSS 18.0. Results: The level of job stress and job satisfaction were 41.0 (SD=10.9) and 51.0 (SD=10.9) respectively, indicating that care helpers had a high stress and low job satisfaction. Significantly higher job stress were found in those who had injuries on duty (F=9.43, p＜.001). There were no significant differences in job satisfaction. There was a low degree of negative correlation between job stress and job satisfaction (r=-.276, p＜.01). Conclusion: These findings suggest safety management and education were significant factors to improve the job satisfaction of care helpers providing home care services. These factors should be considered when developing continuing education program.
