This paper attempts to analyze the debate on ‘Literature and Politics’ in contemporary Korea through the literary theory of Carl Schmitt and Martin Heidegger. Schmitt and Heidegger, whose contemporaries were the anti-democratic thinkers involved in the Nazi movement. But their criticism of liberal democracy and political philosophical discussion on earth, distinction of enemy and friend, these reflection of sovereign and poesy to explore the fundamental missing from our current debate on ‘Literature and Politics’ in the world of literature. The thoughts of Schmitt and Heidegger come down to an ‘aestheticism of politics’ in the end. However, their quest for beauty, ethic, politic and the failure of its process could reconsider the literary-centrism inherent in the debate on ‘Literature and Politics’ in the Korea literature. Finally, this paper sound the possibility of political in literature out testimony.
