Governments worldwide agreed that Green Growth is the foremost strategy to ensure environmental and economic sustain-ability of today. Green Economy includes activities of development and investment of alternative and recycling energy. This definition means that the global climate change stems from the increase of carbon dioxide and the solution of this problem is converting current industries to low carbon centered ones.
The aim of this paper is to suggest strategies of fostering green business for Daejeon Metropolitan City after selection process of green business. Main research method of this paper is reviewing policy documents of central and lical governments and interviewing with officials in charge of establishing economic plan of Daejeon Metropolitan City. Four industries such as green IT, converged industries in green technologies, industries in green environment, and industries in LED parts were selected as green with low carbon and representative future industries of Daejeon. Five strategies of fostering green business for Daejeon City, as a research result, were recommended in this paper after reviewing global trends and domestic circumstances of green growth industries with low carbon. Four strategies of fostering green industries with low carbon for Daejeon Metropolitan City are building clusters, accelerating startups and supporting growth of industries, supporting R&D and commercialization, introducing cap and trade system.
Tasks for Dajeon Metropolital City in the future are how to acquire domestic and foreign investors for green industries with low carbon in Daejeon Region.
