The object of this study is to define the feature of massage depending on the part of a body and verify the effects of them by evaluating muscle capacity of each part of a body after applying foot and abdominal massage to females in middle age. It is intended for 24 middle-aged females divided into 3 groups of 8 and each of group had been applied with foot massage, abdominal massage, and non-massage 3 times a week for 30 minutes each, for 12 weeks. The result is following. First, shoulder joint, trunk joint, and knee joint of the group with abdominal massage showed significant increases in peak torque and knee joint, ankle joint of the group with foot massage showed significant increases in peak torque. Among the groups, abdominal massage group was higher than non-massage group in shoulder joint and abdominal massage group was higher than foot massage and non-massage group in trunk joint and knee joint, foot massage group was higher than foot massage in ankle joint. Second, trunk joint and knee joint of the group with abdominal massage showed significant increases in muscle endurance and knee joint and ankle joint of the group with foot massage showed significant increases in muscle endurance after applying massage. Among the groups, abdominal massage group showed more increase in muscle endurance on trunk joint than foot massage group and non-massage group, foot massage and abdominal massage group showed more increase in muscle endurance on knee joint, foot and abdominal massage groups showed more increase in muscle endurance on ankle joint than non-massage group.
