1. In the poems about the Buddha icon, first I try to analyse the poem created in Chinese script. It is important to clarify basic meanings. Lee Back(李白[li : pou]) was a famous Chinese poet, who wrote those kind of works.
2. In the poems about the Buddha icon, I try to analyse literary and historical meaning about the poems of Buddha icon in modern poetry, focused a rock cliff Buddha, icon in Maitreya made of gilt bronze, and a lying Buddha of temple Unju, these have been themes of the poems of Buddha icon of modern poetry in Korea.
3. some people often underestimates the modern literature of Korea because a profound depth of meditation is low and literary consciousness is also low. Many of poems of the Buddha icon can make us overcome that prejudice. Poetry of Buddha icon is often compared to a self image of human being. This is emphasized to improve inner self that is distinguished the religious literature based on a religious praise and rescue.
So that is deep relation with a critical mind of existential tendency of general meaning of literature.
4. In the future, a study of Buddha icon"s poetry is expected to expand and will deepen the view point of comparative literature in East Asia.
