Report Errors
The significance of short animation as an act of art and experimental expression, is that over the limitations of various media and visual cultures, it allows renew human’s visual sensation. Koean short animation is progressing as a visual culture of new form however, it is regrettable that author’s pure experimentations are not being expressed properly due to relying on excessive technology. The language of short animation, which puts its importance on the spirit of author and experimentation, should not bound to formalities, but must be created by artistic structures by creative ideas.
Although many Korean short animation technology and expression is begin diversified and continue to improve until now, due to wrong interpretation of economic feasibility and ideology, there is tendency where the art, the essence of short animation, is being treated carelessly and where people are biased to forms and result. Experimental short animation’s artistic essentials is the process of long evaluation of communication, and although the paradigm is endlessly changing by the influence of recent introduction of digital technology and new media, animation authors’ fundamental experimental spirit and research into esthetics knows no change.
Therefore this research seeks to arrange Korean short animation’s expression aspect that shows various experimental minds from 90’s from the perspective of visual art, thereby widening understanding of short animation’s paradigm and raise awareness of importance of visual arts and short animation’s experimentation.
