Recently Korean society has experienced rapid changes in every field including hospital organization. In hospital organization, the development of doctors and nurses is very important. Especially, the behaviors of the nurses is decisive in deciding the quality of services because they are contacting patients directly. The successful raise of the customer-oriented nurses will lead to the success of the hospital organization.
This research studies Organizational Citizenship Behavior(OCB) in hospital organization. OCB is not officially required behavior such as the cooperation with other coworkers, voluntary working. It is also not rewarded. The purpose of the study is to raise the efficiency of hospital organization through the efficient management of human resource in the nursing part and the behavior change of nurses. In addition, the study makes some suggestions for the management innovation of the hospital organization.
The findings of the analysis shows how the hospitals deal with the changes in the environment and achieve their organizations’ goals. To draw and keep the OCB of nurses the human resource management system which enhances the job satisfaction and organizational commitment should be made. For the high quality of medical service and patients’ satisfaction, the education program that will produce the highly skilled nurses should be developed.
