This study aims to understand the interactions between microblogging and political events. Specifically, we tried to analyze the differences in sementic structures emergent from social interations based on various microblogging platforms such as Twitter and Me2day. In addition, this study investigated how communication patterns found in those platforms differ from or are similar with each other. For the study we utilized the concept of “viewertariat” which refers to the group of people who present their opinions about and reactions to televised events while watching the events. From the study, we found that Twitterians composed messages which were emotional as well as rational, while Me2day users filled their messages with emotions and blunders. This finding suggests that structural differences embedded in different microblogging platforms tend to lead to different ways of communication.
