This study aims to develop the tasks for ‘negotiation discourse’ newly introduced into the 2007 Revised Korean Language Education Curriculum. The task for ‘negotiation discourse’ teaching itself should be a meaningful experience to learners and at the same time, it should be a speech teaching-learning activity for learners to acquire knowledge and strategy on the negotiation discourse. On the basis of this idea, this study draw out three principles from essential characteristics of ‘negotiation discourse’, ‘contradiction of positions', ‘duplication of position and interests', ‘interdependence of participants'. And each principle should be applied to reflect an actual negotiation context in the Task. Together with this principles, the negotiation discourse Task should consider a level and interest of learners. Thus, this study proposed a task using conflict topics in which the life of learners was involved.
