Recently, people used to stay indoors much longer than before and comfort of the indoor environment has become an important issue. The comfort of indoor environment is determined by physical environments, such as temperature, humidity and individual factors, such as gender and habits. The comfort of indoor environment can affect psychological comfort, as well as health. Many elements of thermal environment, either alone or in combination can affect health, but authors are going to mainly focus on the effects of temperature. This article reviews elements of thermal comfort and health effects due to thermal environment. Through this, this article discusses suggestive indoor environment criteria, which can keep healthy and be productive.
